Steam Engines

 The Steam Engine Section is one of the highlights of the showground, celebrating the power, craftsmanship, and heritage of Britain’s agricultural and industrial past. From beautifully restored traction engines to working steam machinery, this area brings history to life with the sights, sounds, and unmistakable atmosphere of the steam age.

 

Visitors can see a variety ofengines up close, including agricultural traction engines, road locomotives,rollers, showman's engines and miniature steam exhibits, many of which arelovingly maintained by dedicated owners and enthusiasts. Throughout the day,demonstrations and displays feature miniature steam engines moving around thering, giving visitors the chance to see these remarkable machines in action asthey steam, manoeuvre, and work just as their full-sized counterparts once did.Chairs are placed around the ring, so visitors are welcome to sit down, relax,and enjoy the displays throughout the day.

 

The section is not only atribute to engineering skill, but also to the generations who worked the landand kept these magnificent machines running. Whether you are a lifelong steamenthusiast or discovering these engines for the first time, there is alwayssomething fascinating to see, hear, and learn.
